Vince Zampella, Has Passed Away in a California Vehicle Accident

Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in the state of California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated video game developer passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, those closest to him, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
