The young golfer can count on numerous high-profile backers when she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.

The former president, someone who loves golf, possesses numerous international courses and often competes against his granddaughter.

"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she revealed.

Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply stay calm."

"He practically advised me to go out there and relax," she continued.

"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

As an amateur, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions in 2024 and has ranking 461 in AJGA standings.

However she's able to get advice from golf legend, in a relationship with Vanessa.

"He stands as the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai expressed.

"Additionally, he's a superior individual. He suggested me to compete, have fun, following the flow."

She'll challenge several top competitors in the sport at this tournament, such as second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence brings golf to wider groups, especially reaching youth audiences.

The young star boasts a massive following and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
