The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
