Jurgen Klopp states a return to lead Liverpool is plausible in theory.

Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club remains an option. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell which brought a European Cup triumph and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer for Red Bull and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won the league title last season, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the idea of his potential comeback. In a wide-ranging interview, he explained to the podcast host: “I stated I won't manage a different club within the country. Which implies in case it's my former club...yes. It's plausible.”

“Being 58, so I could make the decision down the line, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I can just see what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about which situations must arise to draw him back to management, Klopp admitted he feels no immediate pull to such a return. “I'm not entirely sure, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “No longing for management; I don’t miss standing under bad weather through long matches; I'm glad to skip press conferences repeatedly each week or constant media duties each week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, however, dining out with the team talking freely, is pleasant. We won a lot of games so there was often positive atmosphere around the place. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, praising him due to the changes that took the title last campaign. They've been defeated four in a row in every contest after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the idea that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, you will all eat your words if spoken against. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in while in charge, and the effect for the team. Jota died tragically in a car crash alongside his brother this past summer.

“Can you substitute a person like him? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it's his character. I can’t imagine the squad missing him. Putting it into words is tough about it. A devastating blow for his teammates as well. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it to justify results yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Dealing with that emotionally is not easy. Impossible.”
